It's hard to show how well this blade feels in the hand. This type of blade geometry is the best as far as being fast and nimble and the sword is very well put together. The picture shows the most important part, how the wrap merges. Everything about this blade makes it great. I have not cut with it yet but everything feels solid.

I am very satisfied with the blue Doragon I purchased from ROM. I believe it shares the same scabbard as the Tsushima katana but I like the blue metallic colors. The Unokubi-Zukuri blade geometry is unique from the more common katanas I have seen, the upper half forms like a false edge on the spine. The tsuba has a crane image on it and all the fittings feel tight. Ito wrap feels very tight as well barely moves even when you push it. I have only tried cutting plants and cardboard in the backyard that's why I choose a spring steel blade.

Beautiful, lightweight, tighter wrapping than some of my more expensive swords, straight as an arrow, no warps or curves, very, very sharp with the sharpening service, beautiful polish, my favorite katana I own. The unokubi design is gorgeous. The sword is even more pretty in person. The kaze (wind sound) it makes when I swing it is impressive. Haven't cut anything with it yet just because it's so pretty, but I have no doubt it would hold up and cut very well. I saw a youtube video on unokubi from romance of men, i would recommend watching it. The guy in the video abuses the blade, and it holds up well. I'm talking smacking it on a giant tree trunk from multiple angles. There is a reason rom is growing as a company and will be one of the top options, especially for the price. Will buy from them again. Great customer service, fast delivery compared to several other swords I've ordered, you will be pleased.

I think I have a new favorite blade style. This Unokubi-Zukuri is agile, fast, very well balanced, and the multiple angles and grooves of the blade make it visually stunning as well as fully functional. Super sharp. I haven’t tried tatami yet but it passes through the other usual targets with ease. I recommend this sword to anyone wanting to practice speed and accuracy in cutting and kata.
