What is Yoshihiro Gou in Japanese Katana terminology?
Yoshihiro Gou, also known as "Gou no Yoshihiro", was a swordsmith active in Etchu Province (currently Toyama Prefecture) during the Nanboku-cho period. He was acclaimed as one of the "Tenka Sansaku" along with Masamune and Yoshimitsu Awataguchi. He is also considered one of the distinguished disciples of Masamune, known as "Masamune Juttetsu". Despite his early death, he was a renowned craftsman. He is also written as "Gou Yoshihiro". There are no existing works of Yoshihiro Gou with his signature. It is said to be one of the most difficult Japanese swords to obtain.
