What is Jūyō bunkazai in Japanese Katana terminology?

This refers to tangible cultural properties such as fine arts and crafts, archaeological materials, and historical materials located in Japan, which have high historical and artistic value, or are academically valuable. These are designated as cultural properties by the Japanese government (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) based on Article 27, Paragraph 1 of the Cultural Property Protection Law.
