真長 Sanenaga

What is Sanenaga in Japanese Katana terminology?

Sanenaga, also known as "Sanenaga", was the son of "Mitsutada", the founder of the Osafune school, and the younger brother of "Nagamitsu". Although he was a swordsmith of the Bizen tradition, he was characterized by a straight blade pattern, which is different from the Choji-midare (clover pattern) that is the basis of the Bizen tradition.
