What is Yamato-den In Japanese Katana terminology
"Yamato-den" is one of the "Gokaden", a traditional method of sword making that developed in what is now Nara Prefecture, following the early Heian period. It is considered the oldest among the Gokaden. The "Senjuin school", "Tegai school", "Taima school", "Hosho school", and "Shikkake school" formed the "Yamato Goha" (Five Schools of Yamato). The style is characterized by a large curvature, and the blade pattern is primarily straight-grained.
