It is very sharp and fun to swing around, also it is very good quality and it is a rely good hand-forged spring steel sword!

This sword is a quality sword at a fair price . (1) the fit of the katana into the scabbard is perfect .(2)the finish of the scabbard is perfect(3) The sharpness of the blade is good . ( these swords range in sharpness of sharp - to- extremely scary sharp . This blade is sharp .(4) as always , the blade always looks perfect .(5) the wrap on these swords are normally extremely tight , which is a sign of a quality sword maker .I have purchased 6 of this type of sword , and this is the first one I would give 4/5 . I suggest you look on YouTube shadaversary.They review the quality of these swords , to let you know what you are getting for your money .(6) I recommend r.o.m. swords , because if you purchase a sword on eBay or Amazon, they claim a sword is 1095/ 1060/spring steel ect. But in actuality most of the time they are 1045 carbon steel swords , that are advertised as being something they aren't .

R.o.m. is my favorite katana company . So far I purchased 9 swords from them . From my research I can trust the type of steel being advertised by r.o.m. as being true . In this batch of 5 Inochishirazu katanas with spring steel blades . I found the sharpness ranging from sharp - extremely scary sharp. In these 5 swords the sharpness ends between , the last 1-2 inches by the Tsubas , this is not a problem for me , because all cutting is not done there , and if I want it sharp there I will use my lanky sharpener . For me the blade gets 5 stars . Next, the wrap is extremely tight , and gets 5 stars . The handle and the pegs are the weak point on the katana .I will probably make a hard wood handle with rivets . I would love to see a sword made with a hard wood handle offered by r.o.m. , at the same price point , for people serious about battle ready katanas . All 5 of the scabbard are beautiful , but 1 was extremely difficult to pull out , and 1 was moderately difficult to pull out , the other 3 was perfect . 2 of the Tsuba had a rough edge , on about 1 1/2 " . R.o.m. has quality full tang blades . Beautiful scabbard. I love r.o.m. swords and will buy more in the future.

I don't really know much about katana, but this seems nice. It's certainly fun to use. I got it unsharpened so I could practice with it more safely. Eventually I'd like to get a sharp one.

This order of 2 [ Inochishirazu spring steel katanas] I feel is a 4.5-5 stars . The 2 scabbard were perfect in looks and fit. The blades looks were perfect . The sharpness: one blade was sharper than the other . But , I know I have this exact sword at the : extremely scary sharp level from the factory ( without paying for the service). So, I feel , a little time with the lanky sharpener, should bring awesome results. The block sharpener may be a much quicker way to sharpen the katana , but , I have not used it yet. The hand guard is tight and perfect , without any flaws . This is a full tang sword. The wrapping of the handle has been tighter (from r.o.m. ) on this exact model of katana . But I can not complain , because even if I watched youtube videos , and wrapped it myself, I do not feel ,I could do a better job . I would fully recommend this katana at this price point. R .o.m. is awesome and possibly the best sword makers in the world for working class men and women .

I got the lowest priced spring still blade that was on sale. Paid about $120 or a little more. Final bill was +\~ $160. * That includes the $40 extra sharp option* Basic blk/ wht handle, cotton wrap, not sure if real ray skin (probably not) The sheath is basic black lacquer. I hear that the spring steel blades are super strong and resist chipping and bending. Bummer that it has no Hamon. Not sure if a real Hamon is offered in spring steel? I wouldn’t want a fake etched Hamon. This is my 3rd ROM sword. I have noticed that the extra sharp spring steel isn’t as sharp as the extra sharp T10. I wanted a budget Katana in classic Blk / Wht. This is no disappointment. Yes, it will kill…… My only complaint is that it took just as long to arrive (1-month) as the custom ROM I purchased. The custom ordered “Silk” Sageo wrap sucks. I now know what is meant by “shoe string size Sageo.” Plus no horn caps on the sheath (Saya). Even with the extra custom cost I still call it a good deal. Again, the extra sharp option on spring steel is very sharp. The extra sharp option on T10 is scary sharp. I can tell the difference. If you are patient (willing to wait for a month), find something that strikes you on sale and get it. Check it out, then make a custom order “and wait another month+ to receive it.” Ps, No matter what you get, pay for the extra sharp service! I have mastered making all my knifes scary sharp. Doing so on a blade this long takes a different level of skill set. You may be able to pull it off but you’re most likely going to ugly up the blade. The factory people know what they are doing. Be aware, sharpening this large of a blade on a buffing wheel can be done but it can also be very dangerous if it gets away from you. A heavy 30” razor blade will show no mercy at all. No matter where it lands. Heavy leather gloves will just help to find missing fingers if it bucks bad. The extra $40 to have them do it and do it right is well worth every penny spent. I sharpened a Bastard sword from another company. It came out pretty good but not factory perfect. Plus it was a scary endeavor. No, I wasn’t using stones. Sure wish that company offered $40 for extra sharp service.
