For example in battlefield, tanto's purpose is to stab the enemy from their samurai armor's gaps, or for women to protect themselves.

If you're new to swords and expect to use the Tanto mainly for display purposes or light cutting, carbon steel or manganese steel could be ideal. Our colored blades, in particular, offer a striking aesthetic while maintaining complete functionality.
If you're interested in cutting practice, or tameshigiri, we recommend spring steel. Known for its flexibility, spring steel reduces the likelihood of breakage, making it a robust choice for repeated use. Tanto is short so it's less likely to break like long swords, but spring steel's flexibility still adds more confidence.
If you're seeking something special, pattern steel and T10 steels stand out as premium choices. These materials strike a balance between visual appeal and practical utility, serving both as decorative pieces and functional weapons.
Given that Tanto are often smaller and frequently used for decoration or collection, we particularly suggest considering pattern steel and T10 steel. These materials will elevate your Tanto, turning it into a visually striking piece for your collection.
The saya means the Tanto's sheath, often creates the initial impression when the sword is not in use. Your choice of saya is a reflection of your personal aesthetic preferences. The Tsuba means the Tanto's handguard, a critical component for safety and design. We present an expansive variety of Tsuba options, created from materials such as iron, alloy, or copper. Each is meticulously crafted for full functionality, offering excellent hand protection.

Habaki is a little metal collar in the blade, to keep the blade secure in the saya. We offer various design habaki for your custom ninjato.
The quality of a Tanto is significantly influenced by the Ito wrapping. A snug Ito wrap improves the comfort of your grip, providing assurance that the Tanto will not slip from your hand, allowing you complete control over the weapon. For our custom Tanto, we use real ray skin for Samegawa of the handle wrapping. Custom Tanto, Akinokawa, Autumn River. All the wrapping options. Ito is as tight as can be. Saya is gorgeous, the best in my collection. 10/10 in every way. I Love my new weapon. Pre-made offerings did not match my vision of the Tanto I wanted, even at premium prices, so I tried RoM Custom. I live in USA. Shipping had no tariffs or duty and the box was not opened by customs. It flew across the Pacific on Atlas Airlines to Chicago. I love my new tanto and Highly Recommend RoM.
This was an exciting piece to get made, I love how it turned out and will definitely be getting more from this brand. The shipping was decently fast especially for international, and the communication with staff over email was excellent.
Custom tanto came out exactly as designed and shipped pretty quickly. The hamon also stands out nicely on the T10 steel.

I’m very happy with my tanto. It came out better than I expected. It feels very solid, nothing is loose. The blade has no imperfections as far as I can tell. It has the tightest wrapping I’ve seen and felt. Shipping was quick it took about a week and it was packaged well. If you are looking for a custom sword I highly recommend ROM. They also have great customer service and they are very nice.
This is my fourth blade made with ROM here and as usual, the service and the quality were great! And everything fits together nicely as well! 5 stars!

The Custom Tanto really convinced me. There are not many sellers who offer more than a custom Katana but also a custom Tanto and Wakizashi (and also Samurai Armor). It was really hard to choose from the many Fittings but I think I found my Style in Combination with a Wakizashi. I have nothing to complain about the Custom Tanto at all. Everything looks and feels good. Quality wise I was quite surprised. You really get a high quality Product for an affordable Price.
I got a custom tanto and with the high quality pieces you get a very nice looking blade that’s solid and well put together, The whole thing looks beautiful. The blade is doesn’t exactly have a sudden ‘bite’ if you run your finger finger across it like you’d want with say a pocket knife, but it’s still pretty damn sharp and does pretty fair on a quick paper test. If I were to make one small complaint it would be that the tsuba is slightly on an angle but I think if I took the tsuka off I think I might be able to adjust it. It’s hardly noticeable unless you look for it. Also I got the red blade but as you can see it looks more blue and purple with a red glint in the light. (It looks black under an L.E.D for some reason too lol) This isn’t a complaint or anything I think it looks sick! But it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting either for what that’s worth lmao. I’ll share my other one when I get it which will be blue.

Beautiful craftsmanship. Really happy with most of the Blade. In hindsight I would not have blackened the blade had I realised the tip would be lacking in any of the color. However that is in no way against the quality of the Blade.
