What is Barrel-Side Armor (Okegawa dou) of Samurai Armor

Barrel-Side Armor (Okegawa dou)
This is a type of chest armor (Do) in Tosei Gusoku It is made by joining rectangular iron or leather plates. It is named this way because the surface resembles the side of a barrel. Depending on the way the plates are joined, there are two types: ‘Horizontal Join Armor’ (Yokohagi dou) and ‘Vertical Join Armor’ (Tatehagi dou).
