What is Fukigaeshi of Samurai Armor?

The term "Fukigaeshi" refers to the part of the Shikoro (the part of the samurai helmet that hangs from the rim of the bowl) that is folded back towards the front on both sides. It was necessary during the Heian period, which was characterized by cavalry battles, to protect the face from arrows, which were often targeted.
