What is Hassou Byou of Samurai Armor?

These are metal fasteners. They are rivets that are struck on the eight pairs of metal fittings (Hassou Kanamono), with chrysanthemum rivets (Kiku Byou) being the most common. There are also patterned rivets (Mon Byou) that represent various crests.
