What is Mogami Armor (Mogami dou) of Samurai Armor

This is a type of five-plate chest armor (Do), where long, single plates are connected either sparsely using a technique called ‘Sugake Odoshi’, or without gaps using a technique called ‘Kebiki Odoshi’. There is a theory that it was named after the Mogami area in Dewa, where it was often made. It is characterized by its sturdy and simple structure. It was used from the end of the Muromachi period.
