What is Rental Armor (Okashi gusoku) of Samurai Armor

Rental Armor (Okashigusoku)
This is a simple type of armor worn by foot soldiers and samurai servants, mainly lent out by their masters. It often does not include ‘Haidate (thigh guard)’, which are used to protect the thighs and knees. The front and back of the chest armor (Do) and the war hat (Jingasa) often have marks called ‘Kamon’ (family crest) or ‘Ai-jirushi’ (identification marks) drawn on them using gold foil or vermilion lacquer.
