逆板 Reverse Plate or Sakaita

What is Saka ita of Samurai Armor

This is a special structure set up on the second stage of the back stand (Ushirotateage) of the great armor (O-yoroi). Normally, the lower end of the small armor plate (Kozaneita) is laced on the inside of the small armor plate that is strung down, but the reverse plate is laced on the outside, hence the name. By lacing in this way, it played a role like a hinge, ensuring mobility in up and down and front and back directions.
