忍緒 Shinobi-no-o

What is Shinobi-no-o of Samurai Armor?

This is a cord attached to the samurai helmet to secure it. It is attached to the helmet bowl and tied around the chin. From the Heian period to the early Kamakura period, one hole was made on each side of the helmet bowl for attachment, but later, two holes were made on each side, for a total of four holes. It is said that in the late Kamakura period, the main method was to attach a loop to the waist wrap (the part where the bowl and the brim connect)
