What is Uma-jirushi of Samurai Armor?

"Uma-jirushi" is a term that was used from the end of the Muromachi period to indicate the location of the general. It refers to the flags or banners that were placed next to the general's horse during a battle. It is also written as "Uma-gen" or "Uma-in". As time progressed, it was divided into "large Uma-jirushi" and "small Uma-jirushi". The former was held by 2-3 people, while the latter was held by one person.
