空穂 Utsubo /  Quiver

What is Utsubo of Samurai Armor

"Utsubo" is a tool used to carry arrows. It is a thick cylindrical shape with a hollow interior to prevent damage to the arrow feathers. There are various types of quivers, such as the "Reverse Cheek Quiver" which is made by weaving bamboo and covering it with fur, and the "Yamato Quiver" which is made by applying lacquer to kneaded leather. These have been in use since the Nanbokucho period.
