脇板 Side Plate or Wakiita

What is Wakiita of Samurai Armor

This is a type of metal fitting used in the great armor (Ooyoroi), attached to the left side. From the body wrap (Doumaru) onwards, it was attached to the uppermost part of both sides. It is said to have been established after the Nanboku-cho period and plays a role in protecting the side part. It generally has a concave shape that fits the shape of the side pot.
