Black is a very cool choice of color for katana, In Japanese culture, black is a masculine color and widely used among Samurai class. In our black katana collection, we have designed various black themed katana, for example the best seller “The Kuroi hanabi katana”, it’s a simply, black saya katana, using 1060 carbon steel match with black saya and red sageo, it’s a great choice for beginner.
Other than black saya katana, we also have black and white katana, black bladed katana, black and blue katana etc. For example the Tanjiro katana, we used a T10 steel black blade, with real hamon lines, represents the sun breathing style, we picked a black saya to match it. Tsuba is replicated from the anime, but in alloy material, it’s sturdy and hard enough for hand protection. We used black cotton sageo and red samegawa. So this is an all black cool looking katana.
Black wakizashi, tanto, Ninjato, Chinese swords are also included in our black collection.
We also offer katana customization service, where you can put together your perfect black katana. In our custom katana section, you can start with the blade material selection:
1— Carbon Steel : Among many carbon steel blade, many of our customer will favor blue black blade to make a black katana. The wavy blue blade is also great to make a blue and black katana.
2 — Manganese Steel: Very flexible material, suitable for beginners. The wavy red blade match black saya is great for your black and red katana. Some also like to use gold blade to make a black and gold sword.
3 — Spring steel: Very practical steel for tameshigiri, we don’t offer colored blade, so if you want a black katana more for actual cutting, spring steel is an excellent choice.
4 — Pattern Steel: Steel with fascinating pattern. Red pattern steel is most eye catching blade to make a black and red katana.
5 — T10 Steel: They are all clay tempered blade, with aesthetic hamon lines. Doesn’t matter you go for blue, black or red blade, they will all make your katana looks wonderful.
To make a black katana, saya might be the most significant part because it is the first thing you noticed on a katana. Here are some White Saya Recommendation from our custom katana:
CKSY005: A simply all black saya
CKSY013: A black saya with dragon painting
CKSY035: A simply black saya with demon motif on it.
CKSY041: A black and red saya, the upper part is spraying red.
