What is Iyozane of Samurai Armor?

This is a type of small plates (Kozane) devised by armorers in Iyo Province (currently Ehime Prefecture). It overlaps slightly at both ends for closure, which simplifies and lightens it compared to traditional Kozane, making it effective for the spread of armor suitable for infantry combat. It was used in the Do-maru and Haramaki worn after the Nanboku-cho period.
