What is Kozane of Samurai Armor

This is a small plate made of iron or leather, about 5-7cm in length. It is the most basic element that makes up the armor. By joining these plates together, the chest armor (Do), sleeves (Sode), helmet (kabuto) neck guard (Shikoro), and skirt (Kusazuri) are made. Small holes are made in the plate, and it is joined together vertically and horizontally with silk or thin leather. There are various types such as Honkozane, Iyozane, and Itazane.
