掛緒 Kakeo

What is Kakeo of Samurai Armor

This is a cord that is folded in two and tightly knotted at the base, which is threaded through a ring (Kan) attached to the back (back side) of the sleeve lining. By tying it to the rings on the left and right of the Agemaki (a decorative knot) set up on the back, it prevents the sleeves from flipping forward (chest side). As time passed, it became more decorative.
