What is Kanamono of Samurai Armor?

This refers to metal ornaments used in armor. It includes rivets (Byou) and rings (Kan). It is used in various parts of the armor such as the ""Hachimanza"" which decorates the area around the hole at the top of the helmet (kabuto) where the topknot comes out, the ""Kuwagata"" which is a horn-shaped decorative object on the front of the helmet, the ""Hassoubyou"" which is nailed to the decorative plate, and the ""Suemon"" which is nailed to the small plates and small armor. It is one of the basic materials that make up the armor.
