肩甲 Shoulder Armor or Katayoroi

What is Kata yoroi of Samurai Armor

This is a piece of armor used primarily to protect the area from the shoulder to the elbow. It was used in the ""Keikou"" and ""Tankou"" armors during the Kofun period, from the mid-3rd century to the end of the 7th century. In the Tankou, it was made by tying a curved iron plate with a leather cord, while in the Keikou, it was made by tying small plates together. Like the ""Akabe yoroi"" (neck armor), it is an additional piece of equipment.
