Top 5 most talented characters in Demon Slayer
Top 5 most talented characters in Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer or Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime filled with talented characters. It is a given since the whole story is about demons and their slayers. As the primary weapon that they use is a katana called nichirin sword, each single sword is customized to fit the wielder, the creator, Koyoharu Gotouge, hyped up many characters. But even among all the prominent characters, there are some who standout due to their innate talent. Here are the top 5 most talented characters in Demon Slayer. Some of you might not agree with the ones we picked for this list but before you deny, take a look at our reasoning.
#05 Tanjirou Kamado
Is there any need to introduce this character? Anyone who watched Demon Slayer knows about Tanjirou. He was a normal coal seller who lives up on the mountains. But when his family perished at the hands of “The” demon, he took it upon himself to exact revenge. And while doing so, he diligently tried to find the cure for his demonified sister. All these were possible only because he was talented and there is no doubt about this. So why is he the fifth one on the list?! Well there is a valid reason for this.
First of all there is no doubt that Tanjiro is far more talented than your average demon slayer corp member, even Zenitsu . But he is a lot lacking when compared to the others in this list. He learned and mastered the Water Breathing style in only a few weeks. And after he mastered it, he passed the final selection exam with flying colors. That's because he killed a demon who was way out of his own league and avenged many fallen participants. It's a feat not many can do, but Tanjiro did it.
But what solidified his talent was the fact that he killed an Upper Moon demon, a claim not even the Hashiras could make. So his entry in the list is justified, and as for the position, just keep reading and you will find it out.
#04 Giyuu Tomioka
One look at Tanjiro’s determination, and instantly he knew this boy had the potential. The man who has such a vision is the Water Hashira, Giyuu Tomioka. His talent surpasses his age. Not only was he able to master all the ten initial forms of Water Breathing Styles, but he also created a Breathing Style of his own. Having a calm and reserve character, the Dead Calm technique he made was as calm and reserve as himself. It enabled him to nullify any attack no matter how powerful the attack or attacker were. He could cut, block and even deflect any attacks with ease.
Such a feat is incomprehensible because none of the modern day demon slayers have such tenacity. Even his master, Sakonji Urokodaki wasn’t able to pull off such an act. He fought against the Upper Moon Three, Akaza and was gravely injured. On top of that he even lost his arm!
But still he was able to fight on. He even defeated an Upper Moon demon in such a state. While Tanjiro was on death's bed and was about to get possessed by Muzan, it was Giyuu who noticed it first. By alerting all, he saved the lives of many corp members. His talent is one of the best.
#03 Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei Himejima is widely regarded as the most powerful and skilled Hashira in the series. His abilities and expertise undoubtedly make him a valuable asset to the Corps. With his exceptional physical strength, he is able to lift boulders with ease and has incredible stamina, making him a formidable opponent for any demon. On top of that, he also has heightened senses, including an acute sense of smell allowing him to detect the presence of demons from far away.
Furthermore, the Demon Slayer Mark that he possesses allows him to control and manipulate rocks, an unique ability to its core. This Stone Breathing creates powerful attacks that can destroy demons with ease. He obtained such a rare skill and was able to show proficiency with it is all thanks to his skill and dedication. It is not something that we made up but this is only possible with a great deal of training and focus. For a Demon Slayer, only strength is not sufficient. They also need to be highly knowledgeable about demons and their weaknesses. And Gyomei is able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different types of demons and devise effective strategies on the spot.
But if all these seem lackluster as most other Hashiras are able to do it, then remember, he pulled off all this while being blind!!
#02 Inosuke Hashibira
While he has a wild and unconventional personality, not many count Inosuke Hashibira as a candidate for possessing any sort of talent. But no one has the guts to say that “Inosuke is not a skilled and talented fighter.” That's because they will be nailing their coffin with this simple statement. His incredible physical strength and agility enables him to move at lightning-fast speeds and jump great distances. The raw strength allows him to effortlessly lift heavy objects and swing his dual-wielded swords with incredible force. Pair this strength with his animal like maneuverability and accurate strikes, no demons have a chance.
Only having physical abilities is not enough when it comes to a talented demon slayer. That's because the core sense of a demon slayer is their swordsmanship. Inosuke is no alien to this concept because he is highly skilled in the art of swordsmanship. Mastering dual-wielding, and pairing it with his unique fighting style allows him to attack from multiple angles simultaneously. He became a formidable weapon for his opponents to defend against his attacks. And the most amazing thing is this fighting style and swordsmanship is something that was never taught to him. It is all his own pure talent.
#01 Yoriichi Tsugikuni
Widely regarded as one of the most talented and powerful Demon Slayers in history is none other than Yoriichi Tsugikuni. He is the end of all demons and the beginning of all slayers. During his fight against the Demon King Muzan he showcased his talent for the very first time. He manages to land a decisive blow on the demon that caused him to be feared even after his death. Such a fear was instilled due to the Sun Breathing style, a technique that lets one harness the power of the Sun. And guess what, this technique created by Yoriichi himself is the origin of all other demon slaying breathing techniques!
Possessing an unparalleled physique, Yoriichi managed to reach the pinnacle of his swordsmanship. He used his heightened speed, strength and senses to kill demons left and right. Despite such contributions to the Demon Slayer corp, he was never one to brag. He was humble and willing to help anyone who seeked the damnation of the despicable demons.
This selfless characteristic is what led Tanjiro’s ancestor to learn the dance of the Sun God. A ritual that helped Tanjiro learn a glimpse of the true Sun Breathing techniques which brought upon the end of Muzan. So calling Yoriichi the best talent among all isn’t enough of a justification.
