What is Hassou Kanamono of Samurai Armor

This is a decorative elongated metal plate. It is placed under the eight pairs of rivets (Hassou Byou) that are struck on the decorative plate (Kesho no Ita: a decorative plate wrapped in dyed leather) of the sleeves (Sode) and chest armor (Do), and the top stage of the neck guard (Shikoro) that protects the neck area of the helmet (Kabuto) that covers the head.
