化粧板 Decorative Plate or Kesho no Ita

What is Kesho no Ita of Samurai Armor?

This is a device used to decorate the head part of the small plates (Kozane) attached to the metal fittings (Kanagu Mawari). The decorative plate was established to cover the root of the ring (Kan) attached to the sleeves (Sode) lining, which would be exposed due to the absence of the braiding (Karami) of the Odoshi.
